Still in 4 wheel?

Ok I have a 2000 3.0 ff ranger and the problem im having is when i put it in 4 wheel it goes in fine but when i take it out it runs rough like its not out all the way so ill stop and kind of play with it by backing up switching it in and out ect anyone have any sudgestons on something to greese or to do\?

Definitely.

I would suggest you start by checking ALL the electrical connections and vacume lines on the transmission, transfer case, and differential.

Yeah, you shouldn't have to back up to unlock those hubs. It's all vacuum controlled. A flip of the switch should make them go in or out. Otherwise, you have a problem somewhere.
