67 F100 Progress
Well I got the truck running today. I like the fact I am thinking back 50 years to my teenage days to work on this thing. When I first got it to turn over, fuel was pouring out the carburetor vents. So I did like I used to do 50 years ago. I tapped the carb right above the float needle valve seat lightly with a small hammer. Worked like a charm. The thing idles smooth, no smoke, blow by is not noticeable. It has been an old farmer's truck in the past so I am thinking the 32,191 on the odometer may be actual mileage. I let it warm up to operating temperature. It didn't show any signs of wanting to overheat and there were no coolant leaks. I think all I need to do to the radiator is to clean and paint it. I'm enjoying reliving my young mechanic days.
