Dividing line

On slicks with two tone paint, 66 specifically, what is the dividing line? In many photos it appears to be in the middle of the trim piece but on others it seems to follow the body line and the trim is slightly above it, which is the original design? I know there is a wealth of knowledge on this site and I will get the right answer, so thank you for the help.

Not as original, but on mine i had the break at the body lines. I removed the trim strips and thought that looked better since there was no trim to define the divide.

If you ordered the deluxe two tone - it was only available on trucks with the newer styleside bed - it required the trim molding since that is what hid much of the dividing line.
