Can anyone recommend a good diesel shop in the Colorado Springs area. Came up here on vacation and I seem to have a failure on my headgaskets. Degass bottle puking coolant. I have a new oil cooler and bulletproof diesel egr cooler already installed. This might be damage from previously that’s just gotten worse.
I have gotten quotes from $4500 on the low end to $10,000 on the high end. None sound particularly good. They all seem quite high to me. Does anyone have any insight on what it should cost and a good place to have it done in The Colorado Springs / Denver area?
I don’t have a good place. But 10k definitely seems to high.
I wouldn’t go to a mom and pop repair shop. I’d try to find someone who definitely knows 6.0s(like you asked)
$4,000-4,500 is the going rate I usually see.
You’ve already done an oil cooler so you probably don’t have to worry about that. But I’d do all the HPO updates, obviously reseal injectors, heads need to be sent out...etc
How bad is it puking coolant? Is it over full? Is it a bad cap? Have you pressure tested the system? Me personally I like to tee into the degas line and run a gauge into the truck.
