So i had the dreaded brake pedal going to the floor issue a few years back and i replaced the ABS unit and bled the system and it worked again. Ever since then, it seems liek the propotioning isnt working correctly. It feels like the fronts are doing most of the work. I really have to put my foot down hard to stop the truck.......god forbid i had to tow something, Ive got brand new pads all the way around. My booster is holding vacuum like it should. I pulled the restrictor off the master cylinder for the rears, and its not clogged up pr anything......Any thoughts?

Did you replace the ABS unit with a new, rebuilt, or used one?

 

replaced with a used unit. It stoped the sinking pedal issue. But it still seems like i have to put a lot of pressure on the pedal to stop the truck

 

Since it's used it might have issues of its own.

 

Do our trucks have a proportioning valve? It is my understanding that ABS has pretty much made proportioning useless.
