300 valve lash adjustment?
I'm chasing an oil leak and have the valve cover off on my 300. I figured I should probably set the valve lash, but then I realized it uses hydraulic lifters. I'm used to shimming overhead cams. So, how do you set the valve lash on the 300?
Also, should I make sure the push rods are flowing oil? How messy is it to run the engine with the valve cover off?

Well, turns out some of the pushrods are bent. So adjusting the valve lash doesn't make sense to me until I fix that. I figure I should replace the lifters as well. That might explain why the engine doesn't run super smooth.
Anyone try Comp Cams 7866-12 and 832-12 for pushrods and lifters? Should I use something else?

Setting the valve lash with the cover off is the way to go. It's not very messy at all. This was the way I had to do mine. I tried the ways that I found online, but found the live running motor to be the easiest and most effective for me.
