On my 92 302 I dont have MAF, but I was wondering if its possible to upgrade my cams without first installing the mass air flow sensor, because I have always heard that before performing anytype of mods on the engine i will need to get the MAF kit first. Also, what type of cams do yall recommend for getting better low end? Thanks a bunch for all replys.
You can change the cam for a speed density friendly one. However if your looking to improve the low end only on the 302 a new cam may actually hurt it. The factory cam was designed for torque. A larger cam moves the power curve up.
My little cam made an improvement in the midrange without affecting the low end. You may be better off calling Comp Cams tech line to get an idea if they can help with your combo. It may be better to change gearing for those 35's.
