Ok folks...ya'll are the knowledgable ones. I grew up helping dad restore 50's-60's chevy's. But I prefer 80's-90's Fords. Recently aquired a 1991 F150 automatic 4x4 swb 4.9l w/electronic 4wd hubs and a 1989 F150 manual 4x4 swb 5.0l w/manual hubs. The frame and cab on the 91 are rusted real bad and needed a doner (understatement), so i found the 89. Wasnt expexting to find one running and functional, guess i got lucky. My question is .... With the automatic on 91' 4.9l and the 89 5.0l being manual. What problems will i run into attempting to bolt up. I read some post about flex plate being different but i assume thats on manuals. Didnt see anything referring to going from auto to a manual trans. Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Exactly what are you bolting up to what?

No, manuals don't use a flexplate they use a flywheel. The engine balance is different on these two motors so the flexlate or flywheel imbalance weight is also different. If the 5.0 runs fine why don't you leave that powertrain intact and just do a body swap?

I was referring to swapping engines. The 4.9l is in great shape and not sure of the miles or condition of the 5.0l i was gonna swap them. The information i read about the trans leads me to believe that its an easy swap if they are both manuals but with one being an automatic i wasnt sure.
Well you don't explain yourself very well. Its unsure if you plan on using the Auto or the manual trans. What ever you plan on using on witch motor. Both bell housings are the same so you can bolt either trans to either engine. The thing you will need is to match the flex plate or flywheel to your set up. IF Auto you will need a flex plate. Your flex plate will be different for the 300 I6 Vs the 302 V8. Same things for the flywheel.
302 to Manual = 302 Flywheel, 302 to Auto = 302 flex plate.
300 to manual = 300 Flywheel, 300 to Auto = 300 Flex Plate.
Hope that helps.
If your planning on Swapping out the 300 for the 302 if stock injection you will need to change motor wiring harness and PCM As your 300 I6 PCM will not run your 302 V8
If you're keeping the drive train intact and just swapping it between the bodies you shouldn't have to do anything crazy. Except the wiring and for the engine. Both are the same bodystyle so most everything else should be fine.
As mentioned, you didn't really point out exactly what you're hoping to have when done.
