speedometer cable plastic clamp behind speedometer

This is on 1980 F150.

I had to take instrument panel out to figure out why dash bulbs are out. Good news printed circuit seems OK.
Anyway, I had a booger of time getting plastic fitting off back of speedometer. Used pliers, and got it off, but in two pieces.

I don't see that part separtely, but I do see speedometer cables for that truck that have that on the end.
Is is possible to remove it from new cable and put it on old?

Otherwise I can try and replace the entire cable.

Last weekend I replaced mine because after a transmission swap & overdrive install I felt the cable was to short and caused the needle to bonce.
I will run out to the garage and check in a few to see but I don't think so.

Sorry it took so long to get back, 4 hours of sleep and working out in the heat & humidity just knock me out.
I lost were I placed it in the garage for about a half hour but when I found it and checked that plastic part is put on the cable and then the large ends.
I did not see a way to get it off in 1 piece and put it on another cable.

I bought a new one at Auto Zone for like $20. They only list a 95" cable, my old one was about 71" I don't know if any one has them shorter than the 95" ones as I did not see them listed on other sites.

My local auto parts store (non-chain) says I will have a 76" one tomorrow am. I measured the one I took out at 71".
Thank you for checking.

Now that you say 76" I think I remember one listed as that.
If you hook up the transmission end first and stick the other up thru the engine bay I would pour a little ATF if you have an auto or gear oil if stick down the cable to lube it.
Because I have a stick I poured a little Redline MT-90 gear oil left over from the over dive install down to lube it.

I got the replacement speedometer cable installed waiting for the speedometer. When I removed end from the Clark transmission (code B) some fluid came out. Is the fill plug on driver's side or passenger side
On passenger side there is plug pointing up at about 45 degrees. On drivers side there is plug at 90 degrees.

This is driver's side

Think you have a BW T18, think it is listed as a Clark, and the fill is on the right side (passenger) when installed sitting in truck.
Think was a square plug but will check my T18 I pulled from my 81 F100.
How much came out? Should not have been much.
Checked pictures and it is a square plug on the right side. You can see it to the rear of the PTO plate and to the top of it.

I looked at close up pictures of my BW T18 and I am not seeing that bolt?
Is this a 4x4 and would you know the model transmission that Clark is?
Dave ----

edit: had to look it up and it does say "Clark" but also "over drive" wonder if this would be a SROD or the like transmission?
I don't have a picture of my SROD transmission but when I get out to the garage later I will dig it out and give a look but I also think the fill is on the right side.

Darn I forgot to look when I opened up the garage when I was looking for something before I hit the hardware store.
After I eat I plan on working on my truck and will check then.

OK my SROD dose have a square plug on the right side that I would use the check and fill with oil.
Mine had 90w gear oil in it but don't know if that is right or not?
