Its not hard to flip the mirror at all but it’s also nice not to have to constantly flip it either. Nothing wrong with either style mirror.

Didn't see anything in instructions about region code. I don't think this one is a smart one. Just a power button. Just drive in a 360 circle to set compass. Seems accurate based on initial reading. I'll check with my GPS over the weekend.
Regarding flipping the mirror - no way I was going to buy a new old mirror or repair my old one. I did want a compass. The look of the new one really enhances the interior.
