The whole rear window popped out?? Holy crap! I hope you have some warranty left. Even if not, I would take it in and see. Man, that's crazy!

I have seen it a few times on 2013-2016's, but not the newer ones yet. Breaks for no apparent reason. My glass man thinks it's because the urethane is applied too thin and there is no flexibility for thermal expansion.

Just completely shattered and falling apart. And I was reading about earlier years just suddenly doing this. So yeah going to be fun with dealer and explaining this one. Wish me luck. And will post what happens. So far can’t find a glass place that stocks the glass or can get it in reasonable amount of time.

Just call your insurance company and be done with it.

And pay the deductible out of pocket? If he can get them to warranty it, why not.

Insurance looks like cheapest route at the moment. But yes if warranty will cover id like to go that route.

What year and miles on the truck? I know Ford has warranty wording that says '"Windshields replaced for stress cracks are limited to 12 months/ 12,000 mile coverage". Not sure if they try to include that back glass in that or if its under the 3yr/36k.

The bigger issue sounds like it might be in sourcing the glass.

There should be a pressure relief port someplace in the truck body, on cars usually in the C-Pillar, that prevents the cabin from pressurizing when you slam the door. Might be worth checking that it is not blocked somehow or not functioning.

Behind the rear seat. Rubber flaps on the rear cab wall.

I had it happen twice on Expeditions. Once the rear window was found shattered when I went to get into the trick

Second time a rear fixed window shattered as I was driving. It exploded and I thought I was shot. Called police. The cop said he’s seen several of the heavy tinted spontaneously combust due to defect in the glass.

Dont know where you are from but heat is usually a suspect on this. If its low miles and less than 12 months old. Pat to have the insurance get it done by safe light. Make Ford reimburse you. This would be the quickest way possibly. My buddy did it on his 2015 GMC when they could find a water leak. My buddy found the leak. Had a solid windo installed in place of the slider.

A tip is to leave a window cracked in the hot summer days.

Grew up in Tucson, AZ and you would not believe how many sunbirds to decide to stay in the summer and end up with spidered windows.
