At the risk of insulting, the last time the truck ran it consumed actual gasoline. Might want to check on what things need to swap-out to better handle corn laced fuel.
Not insulting Jay, truth is I haven't even thought about it.
see if you have a local fuel station who still sells 100% gas. We have 2-3 stations here who do. I always go to one of them when filling up either my small equipment or older vehicles
I rebuilt the carb, maybe the material is the 'good stuff'. I don't plan on using the truck that much so I'll just put the 'modern' stuff in it. New fuel tank is on its way.
That's an awesome truck Glenn! Hope everything is going well. That truck should burn gas with some ethanol in it. Ethanol just likes to eat up certain rubber fuel lines. So anywhere there's rubber lines, I'd use an E85 rated hose instead of a standard rubber hose if possible.
Thanks Travis, good to hear from you again. Good luck on my old CC, lol. Give those guys hell for me.
We would spend some time up here in the Black Hills and my wife has always given me crap about my Dad's old truck not running. She also has a car stored up here, its a 68 Buick Skylark GS with the California trim package on it, her first car. It would always start and the pickup wouldn't, so I finally did something about it.
Also thanks for the comment on my 'towing signature'.
Man, it is just so awesome to see your pops truck running. I obviously never knew him but things like this for some reason are very important in my world. Maybe spending time up at the farm and slowing down a bit isn't so bad for the soul. Enjoy the time, i think I would genuinely.
Thats a good looking truck Glenn.
I always rip all the vacuum lines off and just use the 1 for the trans and inside truck. And no trans and transfer case have different fluids

Good luck with it
I thought besides the trans the distributor and brake booster need a hose. Other then that I should just disconnect all the hoses and see what happens.

Well you spent more time refining a tow pig than a lot do. Lol. It is really awesome what you're doing here. I bet it feels good to have Dad's old truck running again.
