Here’s my DIY bug net. I wanted to use the rear hatch while camping in mosquito country. Since I’d already made side window screens I decided to add screening to the rear too. It really opens up the back of the Ex.
The liftgate and Dutch doors open and close as normal with the screen in place.
The top and sides are attached with industrial Velcro. I repurposed a zipper from an old sleeping bag and added some cordura to the bottom. The cordura helps get a better fit on the bottom flaps that don’t have Velcro. I used the leftover screen material from the side window screen project.
I went camping two days after I made it and it worked great for ventilation. It kept all the mosquitoes out! I fell asleep to a light rain and awoke to a bug free view of the forest.

I take that as a high compliment. I only make this stuff for my personal use. I share how I did it so others can take on a similar project if they are inspired.
