Hello everyone...
I'm shopping for new leather seat covers, and would like to know who has the best quality at the best price. Some manufacturers do not embroider the "Limited" logo and that is a "must have".
LSeat.com seems to have the best pricing $349.00 for both driver & passenger. https://www.lseat.com/products/1999-2001-ford-excursion-custom-real-leather-seat-covers-front.html
Richmond is VERY high priced at $495.00 for just one seat, $690.00 for both seats. That's a huge difference in price. https://leather-auto-seats.com/produ...-complete-tan/
Has anyone any experience with these?
I'm looking for the best quality for the best price.
I don't have personal experience yet, but I have payed attention, since I need to do my driver's seat at some point. As Art said, many members here have used covers from the Seat Shop with great results. I believe they do charge extra to embroider the 'limited', but it is available.
I checked with The Seat Shop and they will not/ can not do the embroidery for legal reasons. Their price for both front seats is $860 PLUS tax. There has to be another seller with just as good of a product at a decent price. I don't want to sacrifice quality but also don't want to break the piggy-bank.
The seatshop.com I replaced both of back, bottoms and one armrest in my 2000 Excursion. Like you I wanted the Limited embroidered in the back just like the factory covers. Honestly the quality of these materials were a bit better than factory and are holding up well after 5 years of daily use and dog hauling. I highly recommend them. You will need to cut several holes yourself, one item that comes to memory is the lumbar adjuster. Measure it twice before you cut the material. I have attached before and after for your reference. original hides.. New from seatcovershop
I’ll take it for the team. I requested leather samples from lseats.com. I shall be ordering a set of two tone seat covers. I’ll post up pics as soon as it’s done
Dwain did yoh ask why the leather is so baggy looking? I’d be upset if I spent that kind of coin and got loose covers.
That was 30 minutes after I installed them. They did lay flat after exposure to heat and use. Any visible wrinkles disappeared. Will take a picture in the morning and post as they are after 5 years of use.
Note material fitment on the seats when our trucks were new. This is from the Fords Excursion brochure. Seat bottom and back has creases, they tighten up with heat and age.

I am really interested to see how the quality is when you get yours. $350 for two complete front seats is, as you would say "compelling". I did call Richmond yesterday and the representative did claim they had two grades of leather. The ones they sell from eBay were thin, although good quality, they had an upgraded version that was much thicker and would last much longer.

Bummer they must have gotten legal pressure since I bought in 2015. It was a great match to factory monogram also.
