Electronics Staying On, Module Not Shutting Down, Or??
The other night I noticed the screen for the radio was on. Everything was powered down, no music, but the "backlight" of the radio was still on. Grabbed the key, turned the truck on and back off, and everything shut down as it should.
Now, last night, I noticed the window switches and lock buttons on the door were still lit up, after the truck was sitting for hours. Went out this morning to check it, and yep, they're still lit up.
Any ideas or where to look first? Reset a Module with Forscan?
My window / door lock switches stay lit for 10 minutes after I lock truck. If I unlock and re-enter the truck without starting and then re-lock, the radio display stays back lit for a few minutes as well. Never longer than what seems like a few minutes. I would try starting truck with doors closed and then shut it down and lock it with the fob. You could always disconnect battery for about 30 minutes so that all modules reset as well. Otherwise, it's a trip to the dealer.
I haven't noticed anything staying on much lately other than the other day when I opened the door, I heard my Dash Cam Chime like it was turning on. Which it shouldn't have, because again, the truck was shut down for a while and it's plugged into the Cig Lighter and my Radar Detector was off. One can't be on without the other. Could be totally unrelated but worth mentioning.
However I constantly get the "Analog" sounding 3 startup chimes and when opening the Doors. Like the Sound is coming from the Gauge Cluster. If I drive the truck for a while, making stops at places here and there, then the chimes go back to sounding "Digital" and coming out of the speakers or wherever they're supposed to come from.
But the Analog sound proves to me that there is still a Draw coming from somewhere, and I just can't find it. Didn't put a Multimeter on the batteries yet to see if there truly is a draw yet though, but just by seeing and hearing what's going on, I know there is.
Also happening on our 2020 Ford explorer st and drains the battery dead Ford can't seem to find what's wrong....

I did a little digging for you and found some easy things to try. Find the fuse for the systems that are staying on. Hopefully it’s just on one fuse. Pull the fuse and reinstall. I don’t know why that would work but an f-150 owner said it worked and he had similar problems.
Another thing is to try to find the associated relay to the systems that are staying on. The relay should turn those systems off. Test or replace relay.
With all the modules in these trucks, it’s a nightmare to diagnose.
If you by chance changed your Sync to 3.4 by side loading it yourself you will have to use Forscan to go into your apim module and change a certain line of code.
If not.. I have nothing to add.
On my '18 350 I side loaded Sync 3.4 and my display was staying on very dimly. Luckily I did the install at night and caught it.
