Thanks, for replying . I am wondering what solutions ya all have come up with to best relocate the gas tank . I had thought that placing it under the box and extending the filler nozzle up and into the box of the truck would be ideal however it would be nice to hear from somebody who has completed this procedure or a better option and what host vehicle tanks best fit a 68 f250 .
All I did was pull it out from behind the seat and bolted it right in the bed standing up. I got some 1/8th in steel I'm going to build a box over it and my tool box is slid up to the tank. Only thing you can see is 3in of filler neck and gas cap sticking up. It took up about 1 ft of the bed, but I haven't run into any problems yet. I know I didn't get it quite level, now my gauge is off a little, but I'm to lazy to fix it.

Mine is in the frame behind rear end and has bed fill. Aftermarket stainless steel tank (Fat Fendered Street Rods, Fontana, CA, $450.). Hangs down below roll pan. Running a solid bed cover so a tank in the bed up behind the cab would require a different cover (couldn't reach to fill).
