I can't imagine doing a full fame swap to get the coil front. The 08 has a different shape in front of the front axle too (as far as I know). Which, you will have to figure out how to mount the 99-07 front clip. Just find a donor coil spring frame, easiest is 05-07, and get after it.

If you get a screaming deal on a roller 08 frame...then consider doing the face lift to the 08 hood, fenders, grill.

My frame is pretty rusty and i have close to 500K on the drivetrain. The guy has 05 running gear but also has this PRISTENE 08 frame. I've already swapped a 08 front clip on this truck along with 05 cab and '14 bed. I just dont want to be like Johnny Cash and find out all the holes are gone when we try to put it together.

You know EXACTLY what I'm talking about then! I did briefly look at a 2016 KR and then I looked at what my payment would be...No thank you.

I don't consider making a pickup look like it has Down's Syndrome a "facelift".

That's just my opinion though and beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Then again, the 05 to 07 trucks aren't the most pretty thing in the world either.

Downs's Syndrome? Really? I can see your comments are as tasteless as they always were. You would think you would have gotten some couth in your old years, i guess not.

While I had no business to post in a thread concerning something that I have no experience with, the comment that I made about outward appearances doesn't seem to me like I am making disparaging comments about a group of people and their chromosome counts.

You can take it how you want it and I apologize for butting into a thread.

However, I have zero couth. I have zero intention on becoming something I'm not and caring about things that I can't change.

I was going to rep him just because i thought i was the only one who cant seem to get over how ugly those 08-10 trucks are...they sure fit whats under the hood. Im out of reps.

Anything can be done, give it a shot, but maybe look into 11-16 facelift? might be easier than 99-04 with the hump?

That is painfully obvious.

Any ‘man’ that makes a comment like that especially in a negative connotation, is making up for ‘shortcomings’ elsewhere in his life.

You are aware that they make pills and pumps for those issues now?

Whats the major difference with the 15 steering gear? Do you find it worth the added expense?

Added expense? I bought a 2015 gear with no core for $150.

If you are looking at the coil spring front swap, then you know that the pitman arm is different from the 99-04..but the 2015 has the correct pitman arm.

Drilling the bolt holes suck, I had to use a die grinder with a hard wheel to finish the hole. The bolts are easy enough to source through Bolt Depot.

Worth it? I'd recommend it over a Blue Top or Red Head.

You getting the axles with the frame? One of the issues with the '08+ frames is the front frame horns and the rear leaf spring mounting points. The frame horns have a down-turn after the front axle that causes problems for an older track bar bracket, and the rear leaf springs are longer on the 08+ trucks...the forward mounting point is moved toward the driver around 6 inches. So you gotta get the rear springs with the frame.

My conversion to the 07 axles/suspension has been awesome for 85k miles now. Lovin' every minute/mile of it.
