Unhappy Need help replacing rotors!!!

Hi guys,

This is my first posting so we'll see how it goes. So here is what's going on. I have a 2000 F-350 super duty SRW 4x4 and the brakes on it stink. I had rear brakes done a while ago because i had a caliper go on it (cost me a small fortune to get done). I know I need rotors on the front and a set of pads. The rotors are beyond the point that they could be turned, they have some pretty deep score lines in them. I'm going to try to attempt this job myself and maybe save a little bit of money. The problem is this - I dont know how to do it !! lol I have manual locking hubs for the four wheel drive and I am pretty sure they have to come off in order to get the rotors off. So finally here's my question...does anyone know how to take the manual locking hubs off and then the rotors so that I can replace them? I dont feel like spending another small fortune on a shop manual so if anyone knows the procedure to do this job and could let me know it would be great. And if so, do I need any special tools to complete this job? Any help you guys can give me is appreciated. Thanks.

Pull the tire off. Well first jack the truck up. LOL then remove two small bolts holding the caliper. pull off rotor put new one on. push brake pistons back in with tool (open bleeder) new pads and your done...pretty simple
Can't remember if you have to take out the two big bolts but you'll see when you get there.

Well first off !
Welcome to FTE!

I can't stress enough to get yourself a manual for your truck.Whether it be a cd from e-bay or a haynes ,or the factory manual. It will pay for itself almost the first time you use it.
Or you can go to a website that has your manual online for $24.95 . If you need that site just ask !

Im not affilated with that site either

we can help you ,but somtimes having a manual to go to will be faster.

The hubs don't have to come off the rotor slips off over the hubs.

I had a harder time getting the darn wheels off than swappin' rotors!

Make sure you put some anti-sieze on the mating surface between the wheel and hub when you're done.
