I have a 67 ford f-100 4x4 and all my lights work except the drivers side brake light. If i try to run a brake light direct from the sending unit above the brake pedal then the turn signal quits working. Like wise if I hook everything up correctly, then i have no turn signals only flashers. I know that the turn signals and flashers are integrated together, but how do I get around that?
What are you talking about when you say "flashers"? Flashers, or flasher relays, are what cause your turn signals or hazard lights to blink. I'm not certain about your '67, but generally, the turn signals and hazards are on different circuits. The hazards and the brake lights used to be on the same circuit in that when you have the hazards blinking and step on the brakes, all four corners light up. On later model vehicles, the circuitry is more advanced to keep that from happening.
What you are trying to do by running the wire should work, provided you are tapping into the correct wire at the bulb socket. Although the brake and turn signals use the same bulb, they are still two different circuits.

Ok, I'm assuming this means your DS turn signal does work. To me this means that the bulb is good. It also means the wiring from turn signal switch rearward must be good. The brakes and TS do run on the same wire out of the turn signal switch back to the bulb. You also know the brake light switch works since the PS brake light works.
The brake lights run though the TS switch where the brake light signal is directed to both TS filaments when the lever is in the center position. When the lever is flipped the switch allows power to that side through the flasher circuit.
So, in my mind, the only cause for the problem is the turn signal switch. Preplacing or possibly cleaning it should solve the problem. You can't jury rig it by running extra wires because it in effect connects the two circuits and bypasses the TS switches function.
Check for a bad ground first. The cool thing about these trucks is that the rear light harness plugs in at the firewall so working on them is easy. Pull out your multimeter. Check for 12 volts at the firewall, check for 12 volts at the bulb, check for continuity through the wires. You shouldn't have to bypass or juryrig any wiring on the truck. If you do you're just creating a frankenstein down the road. Quite often the wiring chaffs when it runs along the frame rails. Again easy to check. Easy to fix properly.
i got running lights on both sides, no blinkers on either, no brake lights but the haz lights blink on everything but the left rear. what a mess
bulbs are okay and new
