Dump trailer: Sure-Trac vs Big Tex
My options are a 2019 used Sure Trac with 100 miles on it. Fold down sides. 8x16 14k gwvr. Seller asking 14.5k.
Other choice is a 2020 Big Tex 8x16 with a 16k gwvr. Does not have fold down sides. This is new from a dealer. 14k.
The last two trailers I've bought was a Haulmark enclosed and Big Bubba utility trailer. They both cheap peices of crap with a terrible build quality and laughable wiring harnesses. Definitely looking for something of better quality.
And I know $14k for a dump trailer is ridiculous, unfortunately that's what they sell for in Alaska.
Which one would you go with?
The aren't cheap but are a bargain compared to a truck that could haul the same load. Much more care and feeding for a truck.
IMO, JMO, YMMV, good luck!
The fold down sides really aren't needed unless you need to load pallet's of materials, or bunks of lumber onto it.
If your only need is too haul your skid steer and dirt, there's no need for fold down sides.
Bwise has the Ultimate dump that has a power tailgate that is great for loading equipment and also has a power jack
