HI All, I am having a hard time finding replacement box sides for my 81 F-150 short box step side (flare side). The fibreglass fenders are good but cancer has eaten too much forward and aft of them. Either I'm not great at searching the web or forums but all it seems I can find is the bed kits, tailgates, and front of the box. Any help would be appreciated!

You're not finding replacement box sides because they currently don't exist. Unfortunately nobody is reproducing them. At this point and time, you really only have three options: Find a good used set, repair the ones you have, or fabricate new ones. A couple years ago, Dennis Carpenter Surplus got their hands on about 20 or 30 sets of NOS Ford side panels, but they were not finished. They were missing the stake pockets and lower extension panels. I think they sold the last of them about six months ago. I bought a set of them myself and posted some pictures in the thread linked below.
Why do you say they are to far gone? Got pictures of them so we can see?
I did not ever try to look for them as I did not have money to buy any, heck I did not have the money for the cross members!
Si I did the next best thing .... fixed them!
If you look the fenders cover most of the area that rust out so it does not need to look pretty and to make the lip is not hard.
As you can see I made cardboard templets from what I had left to use on flat stock to make new lips that I welded to the side panels.
Note drill the square holes in them before welding to the side panels.
We can help on how to fix just about anything even metal ribbed flare side floors
