Lest we forget, today is the day we set aside to remember those who lost their lives keeping our country free. A salute and a prayer to those souls who for the last 250 years didn't make it to the bar-b-que. Thank you. Amen.
Thank you Wayne for sharing the beautiful images and reminding us that there is more to this national day of remembrance than barbecues and family get togethers. Our Memorial Day activities took place pretty much as usual with only a passing nod to social distancing. I didn't get any pictures along the parade route, but here's one just getting ready to head out:
I can't forget to post my Father in law LLoyd, who went thru the grinder during the taking Okinawa ' Dads passed now but not without sharing what he had been thru. Here's his discharge papers. We were good friends.
It's not without good reason that heroes like your Father-in Law are said to belong to the Greatest Generation! Ordinary men like him were called upon to do extraordinary things. His medals and honors are a testament to what he endured and accomplished. You can be especially proud to have been close to him. Thanks for sharing and helping us to remember and appreciate what it has taken to preserve the freedoms we enjoy.
