I’ve got an 86 6.9 N/A. I bought a new CDR and grommet, the original had the metal tube going in to the valley pan. When I removed it the old grommet was not on the tube. My question is, how is the grommet oriented on the tube? There is a ridge on the tube, does the grommet go below or above the ridge?
E3TZ-6A892-A (1) & E8TZ-6A892-A (1) generally they come with the new CDR valve
finding the short Grommet for use with the metal tube is a bit harder to find ... Flea Bay maybe the short Grommet generally comes with a new Valley Pan/ aka intake manifold gasket.
I guess you could cut the long one down... there is an AC Delco one for GM and 1 for dodge that I think works but I don't have information handy on them... someone had posted that here in these forums some time back.
I ordered a new CDR a few years ago and the new CDR has a short tube and a long hose and the
gromet part of the hose where it inserts into the Valley Pan.
Here is a link that shows the assy.
