Just picked up a 2001 F-350 7.3 powerstroke. I've had it for a about a month now, and noticed a grinding noise coming from the front end when I crank it all the way to the left and apply the brakes. I am thinking it's wheel bearings, but not certain. What do you all think?
Sure, it could be the wheel bearings. Jack up the truck, take the wheel off and turn the hub by hand.
You might also want to inspect the tire for any rub marks. If the tires are oversized and/or aftermarket wheels with incorrect offset, they might be rubbing when you cut the wheel all the way. Check both tires, too.
