Talking Honest dealer??!!

I have a 03 PSD with only minor annoying problems, ie. the idle rolls a little and kinda smoky on start up.
I pull a 8000lb. 8x20 raised height trailer EVERYWHERE! 1900mi. on the truck and 1500 with the trailer.
My past truck 02 chev 2500 was severly over rated by chevy, my trailer loaded at 15% tongue weight (we weighed it on certified scales) pushed my truck around like a toy!
Chevy said they would void warranty if I added air bags or another spring or sway bar!!!!! So I went to a Ford dealer WITH my trailer and asked for a test drive!!! The dealer didn't have to sell that truck, it sold it self!!!!!! This thing was built for work!!!!!

The dealer said, if I want they could order a sway bar from Ford and throw it in for me. So I did, not because the truck needed one I just figure it will help with side winds a little.
They called me this morning and said the parts were in!!!
Here is the BEST part, before I could grumble about a few monor things THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME ABOUT THE LATEST FLASH!! He even asked for the adress of my job site so they can pick it up and drop it off when it's finished!!! After reading posts in this forum for a few weeks I realise they aren't supposed to do that!!! It's this kind of service that I find refreshing and will keep me coming back!!!! Hats off to my new dealer friends!!!!

Every thing can have problems, It's how they are delt with that matters!!!!

Just like when someone post that they have horrific svc from a dealer and I ask for the name of the dealer so I can AVOID that dealer, so I ask for your GOOD dealers name !

I wasn't sure I could post the name (I would feelt bad if someone shouted SPAM!) since I am a new user.
But I am really glad you asked because it was killing me not to say the name!!!! I just hope I things stay like this, trust me I will write a retraction if things change! I figured it would be nice to say something good on a boad that is mostly about gripes!
I don't mean that in a sarcastic tone
Without and further adue here it is!
Jon kennedy's B&B Ford
Sheboygan Falls WI. in Sheboygan county in the middle of Green Bay and Milwaukee.
I would give the adress but I would feel like a "SPAMMER"
however if someone lives in the area and is interested I will post that also!

That sounds like great service and a dealer worth working with. What motor was in your Chevy? My 01 Chevy HD2500 4x4 CC SB dmax/allison pulled my 19.5'x8.5' dual axle tall enclosed trailer like nobodies business. I was always very impressed with the trucks towing prowess.

The last truck was a 2500HD ext. cab with LT trim and 6.0.
Power was not a issue, breaks were not a problem, the soft suspension was the problem. 8000lb. trailer with 1120lb tongue weight, that is actually 14%, a little heavy yes, but every thing I have read says 10 to 15%. The trailer pushed the truck like a toy! Chevy told me get a weight dist. hitch!
That would be awful since I hook and drop often.
My trailer actually twisted the chevy so bad that the doors would rattle and I had wind leaks between the doors!!!! when the trailer was off, all noises gone!
The big ford has no problem, I sometimes forget its back there! No rattles no wind whistles nothing!
With or with out trailer!
I am just greatful that I found a dealer that would let me test drive with my trailer!!!

Glad your happy with the new 6.0L. I'm very pleased with mine. As for my salesman I got the truck through, VERY good salesman. This is my second truck I bought through him. Not to many dealerships I've been to that a sales person walks up to a 17 year old looking at trucks (they have to take teens more seriously ) This one though, walked right up, and did not hesitate when I said "test drive"

Interesting. I know 5 folks besides me that tow heavy with the HD2500 dmax/allison. All are just as impressive as mine was. I've read a lot of post on the GM forums of folks towing 15k 5er's with these trucks and being totally in love with them. Something sounds wrong with your old truck.

Sounds like the ford is making you happy, though.

I find it very interesting also. Both my sister have or have had almost identical gm 4x4 2500 pickups. Both with 6.0's. One a 2000, the other a 2001 I believe. They both tow allot. One sister uses it to only tow her trailer all over the country. She had 70,000 miles on it and 40,000 were towing a 29' bumper pull trailer with tripple slides. It had a GTW of like 9600#'s. She has since sold it and purchased a duramax. The other sister tows an old 30' trailer that is a heavy pig. Plus they use it for work and tow heavy junk all the time with it. No problems.

I also camp with several couples that have 1500 gm trucks. They also tow 24, 26, and a 27' camp trailer. Plus, they always have two bikes in the back and 20 gallons of extra water and lots of other "stuff".

So, I call BS on this.

Go ahead and tell me how strong this 6.0 is, I know, I love it for towing. But don't feed me a line of BS how this truck won't do this, or this one won't do that. They all have problems, and they all have their strong points. What would be real great, if someone would combine all the good points and build one good truck out of all the junk out there.
