First time digging into this vans parking brake and I am trying to get the correct hardware kit.
Axle seems to be a Dana 60HD, Door sticker code : B2. Axle tag :
4.10 V5C24-KA
2003246-4 L-S
The springs I pulled seem to be for "w/ axle tag XC25-AEE, AFC, AFE" when searching for parts. It looks to me that the wrong springs/hardware was installed??
This is the hardware kit for "Rear; w/o axle tag XC25-AEE, AFC, AFE"
Previous owner never replaced parking brake so I assume this is original from the factory. Does it look like the wrong springs were installed?
The kit you're showing from RockAuto doesn't resemble parts I removed from my own Dana 60 full floating axle awaiting installation and refurbishing sometime soon. Here's what I have on my list of parts purchases:
I can find the same sort of parts through the local NAPA dealer for a similar cost.
I'd double check and possibly replace the brake shoe levers and boots the cables attach to---with infrequent e-brake use they can rust enough they stop expanding the shoes, possibly binding and breaking the cables. Those are available fairly reasonably from Ford (dealership or online) as well as Dorman makes them but don't seem to be the same quality as OEM. These part numbers should apply:
Thanks for the info. I already ordered so will see what happens, worst case can reuse the springs from the old one. I mostly needed the pins and adjuster.
Luckily previous owner said he used the parking brake everytime he parked, the lever and boot still work smooth.
