I have a 1988 F250 with a 300 inline 6 and a manual 4 speed tranny I am helping my grandson fix up for him to drive. I need a little advice/direction please. As I'm sure you know the bottom portion of the "dash", under the steering wheel is removable. I can't remember if there are 2 or 4 twist type "keepers" that hold this part of the dash in place. My problem is the keepers are missing and I need some new ones so this part of the dash can be installed. I have checked with rock auto and LMC and I can't find them or even that part of the dash listed. Any one have any suggestions where I can find them? A google search didn't turn up anything either.
This truck also has some "bug/wind" deflectors stuck to the door contouring the window, I know you have all seen them. I need some advice on how to remove them but mainly how do I remove the adhesive that glues/holds them in place please. I hope all you gentlemen and your families are doing well and I appreciate all your input, help and advice. Thank You
Thank you for your reply/help smle. I had time to get a better look at the deflector today. I'm sorry but I'm not sure exactly which deflector you are referring to. This piece would be mounted under the steering wheel where the drivers shins would be while driving the truck and part of this cover/deflector does cover the fuse box if that helps identify which deflector I am talking about. I am going to check out the 2 sites you recommended to see if they have them. The clips I need are black plastic and in order for them to hold you push them in and twist them 90 degrees.
Another question I need to ask is does any one know the location of the clutch safety switch? This is the switch that won't let the truck turn over to start unless the clutch pedal is pushed down. I think it may need a little adjusting, not much but a little. I can push the pedal to the floor and the truck won't do anything but if I force the pedal down into and dent the floor mat the truck will start. I thank you again smle and appreciate all the help you gentlemen give me.
OK, we are talking about two different deflectors. The one I'm familiar with is mounted to the outside of the door.
On your clutch switch, should be mounted on the pedal assembly like the brake light switch.
Clutch switch is pedal mounted as far as I know. Those twist clips, do they have a flat head and your turn them with a screwdriver, or do that have a piece that sticks out to turn with your hand?
Thank you for the reply/input. The twist clips have a piece the sticks out that you twist by hand. They look a little like the clips in the link you posted but not exactly, those might work. I have no doubt the clutch switch is pedal mounted LOL but It has got to be WAY up in there LOL. I have half way looked up under the dash to find it, guess I'm going to have to get serious about looking for it LOL.
Any one have any advice on removing the adhesive that holds those plastic wind/bug deflectors stuck around the window? I'm thinking maybe a hair dryer might help make the adhesive turn loose.

Thank you smle I appreciate your input. I thought about using paint thinner or acetone I just wasn't sure if that would do any harm to the paint job. Of course the paint job isn't anything to write home about either LOL. I may try some paint thinner or acetone in an inconspicuous place to see what it does.
Start with the weakest stuff, I'm sure you've got a bottle of charcoal starter around. Or could try some goop or goof off or whatever it is.
Thank you for your input sir. Starting off with the weak stuff makes a lot of sense. I may start off with some rubbing alcohol, ordered it off the internet, and go up from there if needed.
