hi. i'm new to the site and really, quite new to the idea of owning a ford at all so keep that in mind.
i'm looking at a 1974 ford f 100 with a 390,(is that considered a big block?) the strange thing is that the current owner says it has a 2 speed chevy powerglide. now, i have never heard of this but, i have never been a ford guy so what do i know??
anyway its a short bed, pretty clean and hes asking 11K. PS,PB, no A/C, any input would be great and thanks!
The place for you is, Older, Classic and Antique Trucks. You'll lots of help and guidance there.
For now, try this. The Ford 390/FE engine was almost always paired with the Ford C-6 transmission. The C-6 was a 3 speed, designed for heavy duty applications. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_C6_transmission
Okay now I can sleep. I was worried someone out there was walking the world after having thought that it was a good idea to put a powerglide behind a 390 in a pickup for some reason.
