Electrical Nightmare

Have a 88' BII w/ 2.9 5 speed. Got every conceivable symptom of electrical problem u cud imagine for bout a week before it quit and wouldn't run. Cranks but wont run. Computer grounded from battery, battery to front near radiator, and from battery to frame, and from firewall to engine. COIL has NO SPARK and is getting 12v's on both terminals with key on. Coil is new as well as Ignition module, Ignition switch, Starter Relay, and just put a new Pick up in the Distributor(stator). Has new Battery. Both Fuel Pump and EEC Relays are new. New Plugs, Wires, Dist. Cap, and Rotor. On Compression Stroke on #1 and Rotor @ #1. Bought a new Computer for it 7 years ago and hate ta say it but it's acting jus like it did before that computer went out! Also noticed las cuple days i don't hear my fuel pump kickin' in when i turn the key. AND i tried to pull codes off the "self test" connector and it's like dead...nothing. This S********h is possessed! What gives? Anybody? Am a disabled Nam vet, am single, and get a small VA disability check each month. Can't afford another vehicle. If this little truk stays down...i stay down...Help!

Have you run any test detailed in the Tech section? What was replaced after it started and ran the last time?

Electrical Nightmare

Well, am a lot closer to finding the cause of my ""Crank no Start" problem. Pulled the Negative Cable off neg post on battery, after replacing every part known to Man. Checked and found out i got a definite Short to Ground! 11.60 Volts worth! Pulled all fuses and nothing. Took 60 Pin Connector off NEW rebuilt Computer. Checked ALL Grounds on Connector AND External Vehicle and ALL are good. Checked #1 pin...is good. Checked Pins 37 and 57 (VPWR) with key off and i got both showing Voltage fluctuating up and down...goin' crazy. Turn key on and both show .260MV's. Don't know how that happens. How i get Milli volts off a meter set on volts? Anyways. Pins 37 and 57 have Red wire that goes to the EEC Relay, then fuel Pump Relay, then to Injectors. Got bout 7-8 connectors coming through Firewall from Drivers side dash. Gonna disconnect each one till i see the voltage drop to "0" on meter connected to battery negative cable and battery positive post. Least i'll know what circuit or wires are shorted then start tracing till i find it! Man, never had this much trouble trying to get something to run in all my life!

Did ya figure it out ?
just a thought, i once had mine just die going doqn the road.
Crank, no start.
behind the battery, well behind the headlight in front of the battery was a ground plug that had, well the plastic had deteriorated and it became unplugged.
if I remember correctly it was the ground for the computer.
had all the other ground to battery cable ground to body ground all that stuff but without that one it just wouldn't go.
