Transmission problem
I have a 2006 Explorer, 4.0, 122,000 miles, 4X4. When I start off without letting the engine idle for 45 seconds, the transmission seems to have difficulty moving the Explorer. If I let the Explorer idle for the 45 seconds, it doesn't hesitate one bit. I have to do this whenever I shut the engine off for for five minutes. It doesn't have a problem once I am moving, as everything shifts very smoothly. This all started immediately after I filled up with gas that I think was bad, as it misfired and threw a code (I think cylinder 4). I put gas treatment in and ran it and it never misfired again, but still have the transmission issue. I don't have a dipstick (the guys that designed the "no dipstick" are the real dipsticks). I did check the fluid level and added a very small amount of fluid using the drip method and it appears to be at the correct level. I can live with letting it idle for a bit, but was wondering if there is something else that might be causing the problem. Thanks for any ides.
