Changing Gear Suggestions
I have a 5.4 liter and a 9.75 rear end with 3.55 Gears I want to upgrade the gears for a little better "seat of the pants feel" and for a little better towing capability. I have seen sets advertised at the 3.73 ratio and at the 4.10 ratio. I am concerned that the 4.1 ratio is going to run the motor too hard when out on the interstate. I figure it to be about 2450 rpm with a 30.1 inch tall tire. However I do not think that I will gain all that much if I go with the 3.73 ratio. I do not think that it will be worth the 500 dollars to buy the gears and get them installed for the 3.73. Any knowlege, insight, advice is greatly appriciated.
