finally got the 59 driving today, not road safe but just enough to blow off the cobwebs after probably 15-20 years possibly even longer off the road. Anyway, I have a few leaks here and there but a new leak appeared after I drove the truck. I didn’t even notice that plug thing when I replaced the gaskets on the gearbox when it was out of the truck. Anyway, does anyone know what it is and is it an easy fix?
That looks like its in a crummy place for access between the bellhousing and transmission. Does pulling the bottom bellhousing access panel provide adequate access or will dropping the T98 be the only way to get your hands on it?
Looks like a soft plug. There is a bottom shaft there. You can remove the tin cover below clutch and see if you can access it. Guessing you will need to remove transmission.
