Mine did the same thing when i first brought it home. It would be grainy, like it was getting interference, and then the screen went blue. I took the 3rd brake light off, removed both connections (light and camera), and reconnected them. After that, it’s worked just fine. One of the connection might not have been fully seated.
my 2020 f250 back up camera also went out within a month of purchase ... and it took my dealership 2 months to get the camera replaced .(back ordered)
My 3rd brake light cam looked like a 1970 tv. when I picked my truck up, dealer did some programming stuff and there was actually a loose connection as well behind the brake light.
Just removed the CHM Camera/3rd brake light. It was held in by 4 torx bolts that I was able to loosen by hand. The bolts were in tight but not too tight. I removed the housing and unplugged the connector to the camera. I sprayed some silicone spray in both sides of the connector and snapped it back together making sure it engaged correctly. Tried the camera and all seems to be working fine right now. I will see if the silicone spray helps with the connection or if the problem arises again. I can see how the connector might have not been engaged completely - hard to tell when I was unplugging it. Easy job to check it - silicone spray should keep corrosion off the connector pins.
My '17 F250 had a grainy camera that the dealer replaced once. Now with my '20 on order I feel like one of the first things I will be doing after taking delivery is check the connections behind the 3rd brake light. Really wish the cameras (and QC) were better.
FWIW, the tailgate backup camera failed on my 2020 F350 today - purchased 4/2 with only 340 miles so far. Put it in reverse and the camera video was blank, then "Camera is unavailable. Please contact your dealer." was displayed on the screen. I'm taking it in to the dealer tomorrow to be checked out...
My tailgate camera is a 50/50 proposition. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Not real keen on my 1 month old first Ford truck at this point in time...
So, my tailgate/backup camera, which wasn't working yesterday, seemed to be working fine this morning. However, the CHMSL bed camera is now failing intermittently. I dropped it off at the dealer this morning, so hopefully they can reproduce the problem at some point. Seems like a wiring issue since both cameras are having problems (assuming they are on the same circuit).
I just wonder if it is an IPC issue, something in the processing. That said, my issue has stayed confined to the bed camera, however if it locks up it will affect the other views by putting all the dots on the image. As long as the bed image is distorted but moving around, the other cameras work fine.

The dealer is replacing both cameras. Unfortunately, they are back ordered until the end of the month. At least they were able to reproduce the problem...
I've also been having issues with my backup camera. It's rare though, maybe 5 times over the last 11,000 miles. I don't use my bed box camera, so unsure if I'm having issues with that too. I had it at Ford to get replaced, only to find out they ordered the wrong camera (probably for 17-19). I've been waiting 4 weeks now and it still hasn't shown up, but it appears they're on back order, reading above. It's blacked out twice and been fuzzy about 3 different times.

Yes, this is exactly the behavior that I was experiencing. The bed camera was more intermittent than the tailgate camera, but both showed the same symptoms. The tech went through a fairly detailed set of troubleshooting steps on both cameras that ended with a reccomendation that they be replaced. I was told not to expect them before the end of the month.
