7.3 idle

What RPM does your 7.3 idle after warmup? Mine idles at 1500 on startup, 1000 after 30 seconds 500 when warm. when at a stop light it takes heavy brake to hold it.

Sounds normal, the 10R140 has a very low stall converter and a deep first gear. My F550 service truck with 4.88 gears and the 7.3 will creep forward loaded.

Mine is the same way. Having to stand on the brakes while sitting still is what I dislike most about the truck.

This is one thing we seen in our development of the 7.3L files, was this cold start, we adjusted some of this to help get it out of cold start adders sooner. dont get me wrong you still have to have those cold start adders but some times they are little aggressive from the factory. I have noticed more with 4.30 geared trucks
