Double check this for yourself, but after driving your truck on a road trip for example reach down and touch the ecm and you'll see how hot it gets. My concern would be that the foam could get hot enough that it could cause you some sort of problems, either to your ecm and or igniting and causing a fire. This is much more apparent in the summer months when it's hot out.
Mine hasn't yet. So I guess it is safe.

Thats good. I'm going to say like14 yrs ago when I did the interior insulation on my truck, I felt a lot of heat coming from the floor/ wall area and what I felt was thru the steering wheel column seal which I also replaced at the time because it showed some signs of wear. Well, I recall in the summer months reaching down in the pedal area and feeling a lot of heat down there, and come to find out that some of that heat was generated from the ECM. I was shocked at just how hot the case from the ECM was. It was so hot, that I couldn't even keep my hand on the case. Anyhow, I recall having some conversations on here back then about this, and others mentioning the same scenario on there trucks. So knowing that I wasn't the only one, and that it wasn't just my truck, and that this appeared to be a normal function. It's been years since I've reached down and tried this again, but I'll have to remember to do this again when I have the opportunity to do so. I'm not driving much right now, so it might be a few days before I can do this, plus I want to wait until it's warm out, say in the 90's or so before I do this. I'll start a new thread on this as well. I'll keep a RF temp gun handy and take some pictures as well and post them up here.
My apologize to the OP for the deviation from your thread.
