89 351 EFI engine light coming on

I have a 89 F150 with a 351 in it.Recently the check engine light has started to come on at times.At the same time the motor will rev way up.It seems that the idle is really messed up.The owners manual only says that the check engine light indicates a problem with the EFI.Anyone got any suggestions? Thanks for any help.

Youll need to retrieve the code(s) from the Ecu . A repair manual will help guide you thru the procedure if you are not familiar with it , plus aid in helping with most repairs . There is a web site that a lot of folks here have used to help with trouble code retrieval but I dont have the addy , Im sure someone else can help you out there .
