It had about 150,000 customer brought it to me, "I was driving and it died" #4 rod hanging outside of the block! I bought it for 200 dollars and took the 400 dollar stereo out and put it in my wife's jeep. I put a reman engine in it and she drove it while she was doing home hospice. once she went to the VA we didn't need it anymore so I sold it to a friend who's trooper blew a head gasket. actually I loaned it to him for a couple weeks and he liked so he offered to buy it. yes it had the 3.0, kind of gutless. I did bypass all the emissions and it was better, that egr tube that fills about 1/2 of the intake is a major restriction.
I'm a fan of the inline 4 banger. Not huge power but fun to drive with a stick shift. From what I've read for the 94 4Runners, only 3 percent came with 4 cylinder engines.
I also had an 88 with the 22 RE and 4.11s like the 94 has. Those were tough little trucks with full size truck stuff like full frames, transfer cases and locking hubs. But I'm sure I'm not saying anything you didn't already know.
Take it easy.

Reason: Correct post
I can’t believe how far the 6.7/power train has come since my 2011 (which was awesome as well).
Craziness.
Hey Andre, I know I’m stupidly late here, but you must know about sport mode already? I just found it today, lol
I do not know anything about sport mode...I only know the Normal, tow haul, slippery, sand/mud of the button on the gear selector. What is this sport mode? This sounds like something I need in my life.

Hit the traction control button twice fairly quickly, sport mode will pop up on the dash. Might be all in my head but it feels quicker, more peppy
Let me know your results, lol
Nice load there. What do you use those big @$$ stones for?
And once you're cruising, I'm sure speed depending, what gear does the trans end up in while you were towing those stones?
Landscaping, doing a retaining wall by my garage, built the house 4 years ago now, garage 2 years, trying to get all the scaping done this summer. Once I'm rolling on the highway it's 97% 10th gear. If I get a good run at the hills it will drop to 8/9. Sometimes 7 some bigger hills around here
