Hey Y'All
Work still progressing on the 77 F150. Like the add on TV says, 95% preparation 5% application of paint. So we are still in the body work and sanding stage, And sanding, and sanding, and sanding! Sorry I can't send pictures but can't find a 5year old who is not locked up at home, I sent pictures to my daughters via text. My older daughter, who's family now lives in north Alabama, on her husbands family farm property, replyed " Dad if the old family truck ever makes it up here to the farm IT STAYS!! Everyone stay safe and May The Good Lord take a likin to you. Chip
David Thanks for posting the pics of my world traveling F150. Shows that you YOUNG folks are so much more computer savy than an OLD fool like me. Guess I'll have to stick with my dial phone on a party line. That's why I keep the 77 F150 with a 4speed manual trans. Now it has modern luxuries, windows that roll up and down, door locks that lock and unlock and a body that does not fall to pieces. Hope to see Y'all at Crusin the Coast. Chip
Chip, truck looks good. Like the post sanding photo. That black over green looks good. What color scheme is the fresh paint going to be?
David, been awhile since I've dropped in. Have had about both feet out the door. Haven't spent much time on the forums. Just the bare minimum with the chapter.
Actually you got it backwards. The black is over the bodywork after the bed and doors were changed out. The green is the sandable primer before painting. The plan is forest green .
You're right. I knew the green was under, but the top of the cab and doors looked black, my eyes aren't what they used to be. I can see it's all green with rust over the windshield. Or at least I think I do. Statement stands modified. That color of green would look great with black above it lol. I still can decide how I want to paint mine. It's black and blue and gray and flaking all over. Original was all black which is very classy, but I think I want to do some kind of two tone scheme with a little red. Want it mostly black, nothing over the top. But there are so many beautiful patterns it's hard to pick.
I'm not exactly sure when the Governor is gonna turn our Lauderdale county aloose. He said we need to keep up the "safer at home" protocol. well, I went to the DG to get a couple of things Saturday.... about half the people had masks. I don't know if it "is over" or not but a lot of folks are treating it that way.
The dems in Washington are starting to really turn up the heat. My wife had Fox News on Saturday and when I walked by I thought it was more like a dog fight than anything else. Lots of yelling and pointing of fingers.
Amazing to me that you can "theoretically" catch the virus in Church or restaurants but not in Lowe's or Wal-Mart. "Science" is a strange thing!! Steve
