I had a 2017 lariat ultimate super duty until someone t-bone it, now I have a 2018 version The 2017 seats were fantastic, got really cold or really hot. Now with my 2018, you can barely tell they’re on in either mode. I went to dealer about it and they replaced the seats, but they are still pretty bad. I’m wondering if Ford downgraded the seats from 2017. Does anyone with a 2018 truck have this issue?
The heated/cooled seats in my 18 work excellent. Now, they aren't really "cooled", more like ventilated. Takes the air from the floor and blows it up through the perforated leather. If the cab of the truck is hot, they definitely aren't as effective. If you have the climate control set to a lower temp and set on feet, you'll definitely notice they're more effective.
The cooled seats in my 18 are freezing. Makes it feel like I pissed myself.
The dealer can check what the output temps are running with their IDS system. You might want to have them check it out. The TED (blower motor) are the same model number for the 17 and 18s. Don’t know about 19s.
I’ve been having the same issue... It’s almost like it doesn’t feel as though it’s blowing cool air into the seat, but almost like it’s sucking the hot air away... who knows but I’m definitely not getting that “cool sensation”.
Ok glad to know others are experiencing the problem. Yesterday it was maybe 78 outside, I had air set to 72, cooled seat on high. After 30 minutes it was barely noticeable.
