Hello from Georgia

New (old) guy here. I'm Ron from NW Georgia. I've been a Ford guy for most all my (almost) 70 years. I tore down my first 292 from a '59 Galaxie when I was 14, so the grease stains ob my hands are basically permanent by now. My second car was a '58 Fairlane 500 with no engine, so my search in the salvage yards netted me a 390 from a '61 Georgia State Patrol wreck. Still like the old FE engines!

Times have changed to the point of passing me by as a shade tree mechanic. Anything in the 90's and newer leave me scratching my head most of the time. I am sure I'll enjoy this forum and hearing from all the "experts".

They aren't too bad to work on, but yes a lot more complicated in their design and how they cram stuff together in the engine bay. In the end, it's still a straight or V block, still has valves, pistons, rods, and a spinning crank, just now the computer controls the stuff we had to adjust all the time back in the day. The folks here can help you get the new ones figured out, and work with you on the old ones as well.

Welcome aboard!
