Hello,
I have a 1966 Ford F-100 4x4 long wheel base. Looking through some old threads it appears that the emergency brake cable set up for LWB trucks had 12-14 inch cable extensions that are now obsolete. I am trying to find a solution. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.
The 2wd trucks had the same extensions, I assume 14" because that is the difference in the wheelbase. I shortened my truck 14" to make it a short bed and everything hooked right up without the extensions. If you can't find any local from a 2wd I have the ones from my truck you can have for the cost of postage, I'd just have to find them.
Do you have any photos of your truck? '66 4x4 is my favorite truck.
Thank you 53deere. I made a handful of phone calls here locally and think I may have found some. Its a work in progress, but here is a picture of the truck.
Truck is looking very good. In that picture - and it might be an illusion - the front of the bed looks a touch low. If I hold a straight edge up to the bottom of the door and front fender and compare that to the bed I can see it is off in the picture, at least. 1/2" shims might be all it needs. You may have already corrected that, too.
