I have a 1999 F350 with a 7.3 in it. I’m having trouble getting the 4wd to work. No light on the dash, no power to the ESOF switch, no engagement or power at the transfer case motor. Relays have been replaced. I have narrowed it down to no power at fuses 15 & 20 which are labeled as GEM module. Where do I go from here? Any help would be appreciated, can’t find much online.

The first thing you need to do is determine if you have a water leak in your windshield or cab clearance lights. If you do, you need to fix that before you do anything. Water will run down the pillar right into the module and fuse box.The GEM Module is located by your left foot when you are driving. It is attached to the fuse box. If it has gotten water inside of it, it is probably corroded, and your fuse box could be corroded too. Some people have been able to clean them out, but I don't know how involved that is. You probably won't be able to find a new GEM Module, unless you are lucky. If you find one in a salvage yard, make sure it has the same part number. Good luck.
