Lost title/Lien
About 4-5 years ago I bought 2 bought 2- 1959 Ford parts trucks that had been sitting for over 20 years one f100 292 a/t with title sitting so far in the ground 1/2 the wheels were under ground. 2nd F250 223 4spd and something like a brownie gear with no title body was in great shape most of rust in the bed we made the deal I paid got title, bill of sale, and a death certificate from PO.
About 1 year ago my youngest son said he wanted the 2nd 59, I told him if we can get the title it will be his. Mrs. Rusty Fords takes the paperwork down to the DMV and talks with a "very nice person" she says no problem the wife fills out the required paperwork pays the fees and leaves.
About a month later we receive a letter in the mail stating the vehicle has a lien on it they provided the bank name. I looked them up on the internet found the bank in Montana I call gave them the name and VIN of the truck they of course had to do some research gave them my name and number. They called back in a couple weeks said the bank that had made the loan was sold to Key bank in Oregon, they provided the branch name and location. They also informed me this lien was from "1963" original loan? maybe.
I called the branch and gave them the same info as well as the story I had at this point. They asked if I could bring in pictures of the truck. I told them I would try and the truck had been sitting for 20 plus years under a Douglas Fir tree and if they were going to want something for it they would have to send a wrecker.
One thing lead to another and I didn't get the pictures to them about a month later I got in the mail a TITLE. Happy Days
So we pulled it in the shop with the help of Mystery oil and new points/condenser it runs!!!
The truck is original with the exception of the gear reduction/overdrive and the tail gate is missing. The truck has all hub caps and original wheels.
My boy wants to keep it all original including the look of the old farm truck tires. I want to change out the master cylinder to a 2 res with power brakes for safety of course.
We work on it only when he is available other wise I work on rust repair on the 59 short bed that I wanted the cab off of this one for.
