It is held on with clips. When I remove mine, I put my fingers between the top of the plastic and the headliner. It just pulls off of there. It's a plastic shell. Then you can get to the little meter. Good luck.

look up inside the cubby hole and you will see a tab on either side. you push it to the outside and pull down. once you get that end down, the other end just pulls down.
