Hope I'm not thread jacking but in case OP does not already know the cost...
I'm confused by your post. You said "how deep are your pockets" then "460 turbo's cheap easy hp gains". How much to put a turbo on a 460?
That question can't easily be answered as it depends on your abilities to do the installation work, whether you can fabricate or not, whether you're using junkyard parts or new, etc.
Cheap also means different things to different people. It's absolutely the cheapest way to gain big power as a n/a build in the same power range will by 2-3x more expensive but it may not be the cheapest if you're looking for modest gains.

All good man. Doing a high HP N/A is going to be incredibly expensive to see equal gains than in low psi boosted systems... and the low psi systems will be capable of gaining even more power as you do the same mods required for the high N/A build over time. I plan to fabricate my own lines, exhaust manifolds, install my own fuel regulator systems and other mods as i go.... that being said the build is still not necessarily "cheap" the ECU we are discussing is around $1k depending on the model and things, new turbo is very expensive but harvesting larger turbos from boneyards that are easily found on big diesel motors will run you around $100 (make sure to know how to check the turbos health and be ready to do a rebuild kit either way) Also don't grab a tiny BMW turbo for a 4 cylinder, it will detonate with this size motor. so even to install a turbo and getting all the materials and assuming you have a tig welder and a plethora of tools at your fingertips like i have acquired over my lifetime and my fathers are all things to take into account, but just materials will run you around $1500. Also your experience in doing systems is important and you need to be honest with your capability and determination to see the project through. Its not going to be a one or two day build unless you are a professional and have loads of time. Expect the vehicle to be down for a week and issues to arise.... doing these kinds of mods always faces problems on these older models.
Yeah, so I do intend to later convert to sequential so I'm glad to know that bit of info!
