I think it's a seniority thing. Doesn't appear to have any relationship with the number of posts or reps.

Correct. When I belonged to the Club FTE paying membership my nom de plume was "Journeyman Apprentice". But since I deliberately let my membership lapse over the bling thing I was defaulted back to my alleged designated "seniority ranking".
