Something is not right with the center support bearing on my 66 F100 w/3 speed manual transmission. The PO said they replaced the center support bearing, but also the rear end was swapped to a 76 F100 unit.
It seems the bearing is riding out of the rubber support and the driveshaft splines are not inserted very far...
I just had a new one put in my 64, and the rubber on the old one wasnt pushed out like yours. I wonder if it was pressed on unevenly causing that to happen. You do need a bit of room on the splines for the driveshaft to slide back and forth when the rear suspension moves.
