Got a stock 1965 F100 sb 2 wd 352/3 on the tree.I am thinking about putting in a C6 transmission.Does anybody know would I have to cut the floorboard out and put the higher bolt in transmission hump in or will it fit without cutting the floorboard?
I had a stock 1966 f100 that I took the 3 on the tree out and installed a c6. I did not have to cut the transmission hump, it fit perfectly fine. I did have to move the rear bolt in transmission crossmember back an inch or two and drill two new holes. You will also have to shorten the driveshaft.

A C6 will only go in from the front because the bellhousing is to large to clear the center crossmember. The easiest way is to install the engine and transmission together. You can remove the rivets from the center crossmember and replace them with bolts if you need to install it without removing the engine. Removing those rivets with the cab on the frame is a PITA but doable. There are a few things you will need to sort out and plan for before you tare into it. A donor truck that came with a C6 will save you a lot of time and work. If you find one get everything that is connected to the transmission including the steering column. Otherwise you will have to figure out the shift linkage, kickdown linkage, a neutral safety and driveshaft.
