That's covered with this one...what do you think of this? Can you look at it and tell me what you think please?
never mind. Wrong one. Hang on...here it is https://www.koonsfordbaltimore.com/n...bd15e66e39.htm

Max tow package. Has the mirrors too...has the 20 inch rims as well.

My opinion is anything north of 8k is probably beyond the limits of a “normal” F150. Not impossible, just takes a perfectly paired combination.

To tow your car trailer I’d suggest staying with a F250.

Yes that covers all the bases and also has the upgraded frame. Same as the two trucks I have!

That’s a rare truck. I’m surprised to see an STX equipped that way. Most are pretty basic.

Super rare combination and a unicorn in a STX. The STX gives you almost 1900lb payload as equipped.

I've towed quite a bit over the years of my F150s, and this was probably the heaviest one. Total weight was around 12,000 pounds, and the truck did a great job with it. I had the 3.5 L EcoBoost with the max tow package and 3.73 years, and it had far more power than it needed. If loaded and set up correctly control and sway shouldn't be a problem, but I wouldn't go much heavier than this.

For occasional use pulling 10K+, I think the F150 makes the most sense. A lot more livable as a daily driver, too.

Thanks for your inputs so far everyone. It looks like a new F-250 may be beyond my reach so now it may be a used F-250 or the F150 I linked you into if they will come down a bit...

If that stx was closer I would buy a third. Super hard trucks to get and I use them in my side business as tow mules. I think one of mine is the same color as the one you linked.

If that advertised price is correct that's nearly 10k off. In my area that would be a deal as the XL/STXs don't seem to get the same discounts or incentives XLTs do. Just my 2 cents anyway.

Could try making them an offer and see if they'll jump to move stock given the current state of auto sales.

I have a 18 F250 4x4 6.2 3.73 truck and a 19 F150 4x2 2.7 3.55 truck. IMO, the 2.7 is a way better towing engine. Towing the same trailers, I much prefer towing with the 2.7, so I'm sure you would be pleased with the 3.5. It seems the f250 is good until highway speeds where wind resistance plays more of a part the weight, and the 6.2 has nothing unless your up a 4k rpms. I just hate that I have to be in 4th gear towing a small load on flat highway. I pretty much never drive the f250 anymore, because I prefer the F150 so much more.

My experience has been similar. I think the 6.2 L would feel closer with a more aggressive throttle response. The N/A engine should feel a lot “snappier” on the throttle than the boosted six because of turbo lag can’t be completely engineered out.

But power to weight alone means the 2.7 L EB will feel like a racecar compared to a 6.2 L super duty. And the turbo diesel like torque curve makes for an awesome towing experience.

Yes, the current 3.5 375/470 will walk away from a 6.2 anything, going uphill, including the 6.2 Raptor.

You are correct in your worries. The 3.5 is not the issue. The rest of truck at full capacity is & you will feel it when towing heavy. I just traded my 3.5 Max tow F-150 on a F-350 7.3 4.30 geared truck. I absolutely loved the Max tow truck but it was very easy to max out the payload. My payload has gone from 1717 pounds on the F-150 to 4170 lbs on the gas F350. Towing with a full bed of stuff AND passengers is important to me. Drive ability of the F350 is very close to the Max tow F-150. Love it! Good luck with your truck search.
