Folks
I was told that you can interchange the 1976 F100 4WD steering arms and upgrade them to the 1978-79 4WD type. Has anyone ever completed this task is it even doable?
Thanks
Randy
From my understanding you change the pitman arm to the 78-79, then use centerlink, draglink, and tie rod end for 78-79. Correct me if I am wrong but I believe the older parts are obsolete because the 78-79 is a better design and an upgrade.
I didn’t. Don’t think you would have to either. If you have the ability to get the pieces do it, it is a worthwhile upgrade.
I do believe the pitman arms are different. I put in a drop pitman since I was there.
